A Nevada father was arrested after he allegedly stabbed his son to death and then claimed the victim fell on a knife.
Officers responded to the father and son’s apartment on Dec.22 at around 1 p.m. and encountered the victim’s girlfriend and his father, 81-year-old Juan Garcia-Hernandez.
Nelson Garcia-Leon was pronounced dead from stab wounds to the chest at the scene.
The victim’s girlfriend told detectives she returned home from shopping to find him with blood on his chest.
When she asked the father, he claimed the victim fell on a knife. The elderly man told detectives the same story.
Officers found a bloody, 15-inch knife “hastily hidden behind an ice cooler.” They also revealed that Garcia-Hernandez had previously been arrested for threatening people with knives.
