A 12-year-old Las Vegas girl is behind bars accused of killing her 55-year-old father over the last weekend.
North Las Vegas Police officers responded to an apartment on the 3400 block of Mercury Street at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday after the girl called expressing concerns about someone’s wellbeing.
Once at the scene, the officers located the girl and her deceased father inside the home.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures provided by the North Las Vegas Fire Department.
Police said officers had previously responded to the apartment earlier this month for domestic disturbance and reports of a runaway.
The girl was deemed the sole suspect in her father’s death. She reportedly bore no signs of physical abuse.
She was booked into the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center on murder with the use of deadly weapon charges.
