A Houston man shot three boys early Thursday morning after they allegedly tried to rob him at gunpoint outside an apartment complex.
Officers found a 12-year-old boy “with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the ground” before locating two more boys, ages 12 and 13, with injuries at a nearby building.
A 25-year-old man told officers he shot the boys after they “pointed guns at him in an attempt to rob him.”
The man’s girlfriend said they were returning home from a party when a group of armed juveniles surrounded their vehicle.
The woman said she initially thought it was a joke given the suspects’ young age.
Police said that the 12-year-old boy who was repeatedly shot remains in the ICU and the two others are recovering in stable condition.
A fourth juvenile was also detained. Police said they recovered multiple weapons from the scene.
