A Las Vegas man turned himself in Thursday days after his girlfriend was found dead with four gunshots to the back of the head.
Tracy Coleman recalled how Markeem Bunson promised to get her daughter, Renise Wolfe, home safe after a holiday party the night before she was found slain at her apartment.
“Please get my daughter home safe,” Coleman asked Benson Saturday. “I’ll get her home safe.”
“I’ll take care of her, I promise.”
Benson’s father called North Las Vegas Police telling the dispatchers the 29-year-old wanted to surrender.
“The victim was shot behind the ear from the back of the head, four times,” said Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney Michelle Jobe.
“He claimed there was a struggle and the gun went off.”
Wolfe’s mother said Benson and her daughter met five months ago and since, the suspect has been caring and loving toward her.
“He makes you really trust him. That’s how he took care of her,” she said.
