Two teen girls were shot and killed on Christmas Eve when the 18-year-old son of their next-door neighbor opened fire.
Lee County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the Beulah community on Lee County Road and found two young women unresponsive with gunshot wounds.
The victims were later identified as 18-year-old Madison Daly and 19-year-old Kayden Lynch. The victims were reportedly roommates.
Police arrested an 18-year-old suspect at the scene and charged him with capital murder.
They said the suspect took a gun from his mother’s home, which is next door to the victims’, after assaulting the woman.
The motive for the double homicide remains unknown. Friends and relatives took to social media to mourn the roommates.
