Authorities in New Hampshire are investigating a suspected carbon monoxide poisoning that left four people dead on Christmas Day.
Officers arrived at the Wakefield home at around 4:20 p.m. for a welfare check and found the bodies of four adults.
“While the investigation remains active and ongoing, at this time, investigators believe the victims died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning,” NH State Fire officials said.
The victims were two older adults and two younger adults. Family members called the police and requested a wellness check on them after they did not show up for a holiday gathering.
The home did not have any carbon monoxide detectors and a gas heating system may be behind the tragedy.
