Nebraska boy, 16, fatally shoots older brother mistaking him for assailant

A Nebraska man was fatally shot by his teenage brother who mistook him for an assailant who had attacked him days earlier.

The 20-year-old victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds outside the Bridgeport Apartments in Lincoln at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

    The victim’s 16-year-old brother told detectives he saw a man in dark clothes and feared for his safety after being the target of an attack last Friday.

    He fired several shots at the man who turned out to be his brother. The teen was arrested on manslaughter and use of a weapon charges.
