Panama City news, Florida news.

A Florida man’s argument with his wife ended in a tragedy after he “targeted” her daughter, and son-in-law to expel his anger.

Newell Mock, 67, got into a heated argument with his wife late Friday when he “armed himself with a handgun” prompting his wife to escape from the home, Panama City Police said.

Mock drove his wife’s car to her daughter’s home. There, he shot his stepdaughter Jessica Johns, and her husband Josh Johns multiple times killing the 40-year-old man.

Despite officers’ attempts to “de-escalate” the situation, Mock “refused to engage in dialogue” and took his own life.

“His anger was really directed at his wife,” Panama City Police Chief Mark Smith said.

“But when he couldn’t expel that anger towards her, he decided to hurt her family, in order to hurt her.”
