Army officials are investigating a fatal shooting that left one person dead at an Army installation in Georgia Saturday.
The gunman was arrested within an hour after the deadly shooting at the housing section of the Fort Eisenhower base, officials said.
“Fort Eisenhower is actively supporting the victim’s family and assistance will be available to anyone impacted by this tragedy,” authorities said.
A temporary lockdown was issued following the “isolated incident” at the base.
“Execute lockdown procedures on the installation immediately! If you are in danger take appropriate action,” army officials said in a message.
Following the threat, the base canceled an afternoon’s Army-Navy football game.
