Texas father charged after trying to burn down house with his 3 children inside

A Texas father was charged with three counts of attempted murder after he allegedly tried to set his house ablaze with three children inside last month.

Pedro Luis Parra Pulgar, 46, started a fire at his house on El Dorado Boulevard in Fulshear in the early morning of Nov. 6.

A neighbor called authorities to report the fire at the back of the house.

  • First responders were able to rescue a 3-year-old who was trapped in a bedroom. That child was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

    Two other children managed to escape from the burning home. Pulgar was badly injured in the incident and has since been hospitalized.

    Pulgar was later booked into the Fort Bend County Jail. His bond was set at $2.25 million. A motive remains unclear.
