Remains of missing South Carolina woman found in well

A missing South Carolina woman’s remains were located in a well, months after she vanished without a trace.

On Monday, the Darlington County Coroner’s Office identified the remains found in a well last week as Shamra Hope Cassidy Felkel.

The 49-year-old woman was reportedly strangled and dumped in the well near her home after she vanished last September.

    Police arrested Daniel Peele and charged him with murder, kidnapping, and obstructing justice.

    “Unfortunately, we cannot release any documents, or any other information related to this case at this time,” Sheriff James Hudson Jr. said.

    “This incident is currently under investigation as well as pending in Circuit Court. The release of such information may hinder the investigation and/or prosecution of the case.”
