Connecticut police officer takes own life hours after being charged with enticing a minor

A Connecticut police officer was found dead in a suspected suicide Friday hours after he was charged with enticing a minor.

Manchester Police Sergeant Ryan Moan, 33, was arrested by his own department on Friday morning and released on a $50,000 bond.

He was charged with risk of injury/impairing the morals of a child, enticing a minor by computer, misrepresentation of age to entice a minor, and tampering with physical evidence.

    Since November 18, Moan has been placed on unpaid leave as an investigation into the allegations against him proceeded.

    Moan was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside a vehicle parked at the Hatch Hill Road boat launch in the Town of Vernon just before 2 p.m. Friday.
