Authorities in Idaho announced Friday the arrest of a murder suspect who had walked away from a minimum-security correctional facility a day earlier.
Kevin Nicholas Kuintzle, 33, was recaptured after a 24-hour manhunt, the Idaho Department of Correction said.
The fugitive walked away from the St. Anthony Work Camp in Fremont County at around 8 p.m. Thursday.
He was later involved in an attempted carjacking and theft of a firearm in Idaho Falls on Friday afternoon.
“Kuintzle was last seen in Idaho Falls around noon today. He was wearing khaki pants, a black coat, and white sneakers. He should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information should call 911,” the department said in a statement.
In a Friday evening update, the department announced that Kuintzle was arrested in Pocatello without incident.
Kuintzle is facing several charges including first-degree murder, burglary, and destruction of evidence in connection to the September 2023 killing of an 84-year-old man who was fatally shot at his home.
