The body of a missing Oregon woman was located Friday, and her estranged husband is now facing second-degree murder charges.
61-year-old Susan Lane-Fournier and her two dogs were reported missing on November 22 after she did not show up for work.
She was last seen hiking in the Mount Hood National Forest. Her disappearance came a week after she filed for divorce.
Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said that Lane-Fournier’s truck was found abandoned on Salmon River Road near the Green Canyon Way Trail in Welches.
The four-day search for Lane-Fournier was delayed by “weather conditions and the likelihood of survivability.”
An autopsy ruled Lane-Fournier’s death a homicide, but a cause of death is pending.
Michel Fournier, 71, was arrested on second-murder charges. He was booked into the Clackamas County jail on Friday.
