DUI driver shot, killed by California officers after driving into cruiser

Authorities in Brea, California said that officers fatally shot a suspected DUI driver who drove his car into a police cruiser Thursday afternoon.

Brea Police officers responded to reports of a “possible DUI driver” at around 4:42 p.m.

When officers arrived, they located the suspect on Lambert Road and the 57 Freeway after he crashed his vehicle against a wall.

    “Officers made contact with the driver. A short time later, an officer-involved shooting occurred,” police said.

    The officers fired at the driver, killing him. None of the officers who responded to the incident were harmed.

    An investigation into the incident is ongoing by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
