NC father gunned down in front yard of his home on Thanksgiving: ‘Maybe it’s just a dream’

A North Carolina man was fatally shot outside his Zebulon home on Thanksgiving Day, leaving her family in mourning.

Robert Cummings, 55, was shot and killed in his front yard at around 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 28.

He was declared dead at a hospital shortly later. Zebulon Police asked anyone with information to come forward and help in the investigation.

  • “Maybe it’s not all real. Maybe it’s just like a dream,” Cummings’ son Damain said.

    “My thing of it is, just put yourself in my shoes. If this was your family member, would you want your family to go unknown or would you want your family to have a peace of mind?”

    “If you can, please help. Anything would do. Thank you. This is hard on my grandma, so I want to do my best to help with anything I can while we look for who did this to our family.”
