Two people were killed, and two others are in police custody after a shootout outside a McKinney apartment complex Wednesday afternoon.
Witnesses told officers that a 19-year-old man was involved in a shootout with a 20-year-old passenger of a pickup truck outside the building near Logan and McDonald Street.
The 19-year-old was fatally hit before the truck drove away, dropping off the 20-year-old and 18-year-old Christopher Perez at a local hospital.

The driver, identified as 21-year-old Josue Mejia, led police on a chase that ended with his arrest.
Police took him and Perez in custody on murder charges after the death of the 20-year-old man from gunshot wounds.
Investigators have yet to determine what triggered the deadly shootout.
