Authorities in Houston arrested a man Wednesday evening after his girlfriend was found dead at a motel room.
The man called 911 after assaulting the victim to death at the Moonlight Inn in the 5200 block of Airline Drive.
Officers responded to the motel just after 6 p.m. and located a man with blood on his clothes, standing on a balcony.

The suspect admitted to beating his girlfriend, who was declared dead at the scene.
Police said the victim suffered blunt trauma injuries to the head during a dispute with the suspect.
There were no witnesses in the room at the time of the murder. The suspect and victim’s identities were not immediately known.
