Alabama man ambushed, killed in barrage of gunfire in parking lot; multiple suspects sought

An Alabama man was ambushed and killed in a barrage of gunfire in the parking lot of an apartment complex late Thursday afternoon, police said.

The incident occurred at 3:51 p.m. in the parking lot of Park at Wood Station apartment off First Avenue South in Woodlawn.

Officers arrived to find a young man deceased inside a vehicle. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds.

    Loved ones of the victim gathered at the scene crying and mourning in a massive crowd. Officer Truman Fitzgerald said the man was visiting someone at the building.

    “This happened in a heavily populated complex. We’re urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stopper. You can remain anonymous, and you will receive up to $5,000 in a cash reward.”

    “If you have any that captured this incident, or the events leading up to or after, you can receive a cash reward the same way you would if you called in a tip.”
