An Ohio boy was found dead a week after vanishing from his Mansfield home in what authorities described as a “suspicious death.”
16-year-old Trentin Isaac was found dead Monday, a two-hour drive across the state from his home in Harrison County.
Mansfield Police Chief Jason Bammann said Harrison County investigators alerted his department of a body matching Isaac’s description found in a remote section of the county.
The Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office confirmed the boy’s identity later on Monday.
“It is being investigated in Harrison County as a suspicious death. We don’t have a lot more to go on at this point. They are processing that scene down there,” Bammann said.
Police urged anyone with such information “to come forward immediately.”
“The family and the community can be assured that the division will work diligently to not only answer these questions, but also bring justice to the individuals who committed this act,” Bammann said.
