A California man is arrested while recovering from surgery after he allegedly tried to kill his wife and himself and confessed to the murder of his mother.
Frank James McMillan, 63, stabbed his wife and himself shortly after 8:30 a.m. Saturday, just after waking up from surgery.

Police found McMillan’s mother dead inside her home. McMillan was arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder.
His wife is expected to survive. A motive remains unclear.
