NY man with ‘significant’ mental health issues slaughters father at luxury Irish hotel

A New York man is being detailed in Ireland, where he allegedly murdered his father earlier this week.

Henry McGowan, 30, as charged with murder in connection to the death of his 60-year-old father, John McGowan, who was attacked at a 5-star hotel in County Laois, Ireland on Nov. 12.

  • John was reportedly attacked in the leisure center of the resort. He suffered serious injuries and was later pronounced dead.

    Henry was arrested “at a Garda station in the Eastern Region”.

    His lawyer told a judge on Thursday that he had significant mental health difficulties and needed psychiatric assessment while in custody.
