A Tennessee boy is behind bars, accused of fatally stabbing a 13-year-old cheerleader early Tuesday morning.
The body of Savannah Copeland was found on a trail shortly before 5 p.m. through a tracking app.
The girl’s father said she went missing overnight. Knox County Sheriff Tom Spangler announced the arrest of 15-year-old Malakiah Harris in connection to the slaying.

“I’m not going to allow my heart to be filled with that kind of rage, it’s going to be filled with compassion,” the girl’s father said.
“That’s the only way I know how to defeat evil.”
Savannah was a cheerleader at Powell Middle School. A motive for the slaying remains unclear.
