A California man was killed and buried in his backyard this month, just days after his alleged killer broke into his room and ransacked his belongings.
Bradley Minder, 31, was looking for another room to rent after the incident involving the landlord’s grandson, Richard Thomas Martinez, 48.
However, just three days after the ransacking incident, Minder was killed and buried in the backyard, Riverside Police said.
His remains were discovered in a freshly dug grave on October 15. Martinez made statements suggesting he killed Minder during an argument.
“Bradley didn’t really know him, the guy was on some bender or something,” Minder’s grieving brother said.
“He wasn’t right in the head. He was constantly smoking meth and stuff.”
Martinez had previously been arrested for assaulting his own grandfather and destroying his brother’s room.
Meanwhile, Minder’s family is preparing for his funeral, describing him as the oldest son with “a heart of gold” who worked hard to help support his younger siblings.
“He told me he was going to be OK,” his mother said, “I love you, mom, you are my rock, and that was the last time I talked to my son.”
