A California man was arrested this week after human remains belonging to his roommate were discovered buried in their backyard, authorities said.
On Oct. 18, the Riverside Police Department said 48-year-old Richard Thomas Martinez admitted to killing 31-year-old Bradley Minder during an altercation earlier this month.
“Their preliminary investigation revealed the victim and suspect are roommates,” the Riverside Police Department said.
“That occupant was detained, and a search of the property revealed a possible crime scene in the backyard.”
Cadaver dogs led detectives to a freshly disturbed area in the backyard where human remains were found.
The Riverside Coroner’s Office identified the remains as Minder.
Martinez was charged with first-degree murder and murder with malice.
