A Tennessee mother was arrested after she allegedly beat her own mother unconscious to kidnap her young children.
Police said Sarah Myers, 39, traveled to her mother’s home on Wednesday and assaulted the woman, who is the legal custodian of Myers’ children, to the point that she lost consciousness.
Myers then took her two children, aged 1-year-old and 3-month-old, and fled to Hermitage, Tennessee in a 1997 Lincoln Town Car.
A man called 911 at around 11:30 p.m. telling police that Myers was at a townhouse in the area and was suicidal.
The caller revealed Myers had recently talked about committing suicide and possessed “overdoses on prescription medication.”
Officers and paramedics responded to the address and located the toddler inside Myers’ parked vehicle, unharmed.
Myers and her infant were found inside the home, also unharmed. Myers was taken into custody on charges of child neglect of a child under the age of 8, custodial interference, and theft of a vehicle.
