Four victims, including two children, were found dead after a “horrible” fire that ravaged a three-story home in south Las Vegas early Thursday morning.
A woman and a child were hospitalized with injuries after they jumped out of the home that caught fire at around 4 a.m., officials said.
Several units were dispatched to a home on Langhorne Creek Street. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they spotted flames coming out of windows.
“It’s just horrible,” said Clark County Fire Chief John Steinbeck.
“They went in aggressively to try to attack the fire. They were driven out by heat immediately on the second floor and moved down to the first floor to conduct search operations and the building began to collapse on top of them and they had to reverse back out.”
Firefighters battled the fire from outside trying to protect neighboring homes. The heat did damage a nearby home’s windows.
The cause of the deadly fire is still under investigation.
