Vice President Kamala Harris brought up the recent remarks of John Kelly, the former chief of staff to Donald Trump, calling his statements a “911 call to Americans” days ahead of the presidential election.
The former Marine general said in a New York Times interview this week that Trump fits the label of a “fascist” and that he had told him several times that Adolf Hitler had “done some good things.”
Harris commented on Kelly’s remarks during a CNN town hall, confirming that she believed Trump was “a fascist.”
“And I also believe that the people who know him best on this subject should be trusted,” she said.
“Why is he [Kelly] telling the American people now? Frankly, I think of it as…he’s just putting out a 911 call to the American people.”
Harris repeated that Trump was becoming “increasingly unhinged and unstable” during the Aston, Pennsylvania town hall.
“It is deeply troubling and incredibly dangerous that Donald Trump would invoke Adolf Hitler, the man who is responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Americans,”
“All of this is further evidence for the American people of who Donald Trump really is.”
