Missing Maryland autistic boy, 5, found dead in pond

A Maryland boy was found dead in a pond near his home hours after he was reported missing, police said.

5-year-old Miles McMahon was last seen on surveillance footage leaving his family’s front yard on October 13.

The family searched for the boy, who had autism and was nonverbal, before calling the police.

    “We are heartbroken along with Miles’ family and all of you,” the Charles County Sheriff’s Office said.

    “Please keep Miles and his family in your thoughts and prayers as well as all first responders and all of those who assisted.”
