Two brothers were shot and killed late Friday by the violent boyfriend of a neighbor who ran to their home seeking shelter from his abuse.
Harris County Sheriff Sgt. Jason Brown said the woman took her two teen children and ran to their next-door neighbors during a domestic incident involving her boyfriend.
Three brothers came outside of the residence to stop the boyfriend who followed the woman and her children, Brown said.
The suspect, later identified as Carlos Guerra, opened fire fatally striking two of the three siblings.
The third brother was also armed and returned fire forcing the suspect to flee back to his home where he shot and killed himself.
Brown identified the brothers as Edward Lopez-Robles, 50, and Luis Lopez-Robles, 31. The suspect was in his 20s.
He said deputies responded to the same residence days earlier over another family violence incident involving the couple.
