Atlanta news, Georgia news.

A female security guard who tried to help with the investigation into the death of an elderly resident is now accused of the murder.

Chun Ki Kim, 90, was stabbed to death inside his fifth-floor apartment at a residential complex for seniors and people with disabilities.

When his body was found on September 25, security guard Janet Denise Williams was on the scene helping detectives retrieve a doorbell camera from a neighbor’s apartment and comforting grieving family members.

“While it was still unclear what her intentions initially were, Williams stabbed Mr. Kim to death,” police ultimately determined after weeks of investigation.

Surveillance footage from the building showed Williams taking the elevator at 3:15 p.m. on September 24 to the fifth floor and getting back about six minutes later.

“The red Xfinity bag she was carrying also appeared to be fuller as if something had been placed inside during that time,” the arrest warrant read.

“Williams got off the elevator with a noticeable limp.”

Williams had a large wound on her thigh that she blamed on the garage door. She has been charged with murder.

A victim’s relative recalled Williams hugging them and saying “Your father was such a wonderful person and I don’t know why this happened.”
