A North Carolina boy is dead after his 6-year-old sibling accidentally shot him last week, officials said.
Karter Rosenboro, 5, died from a gunshot wound to the head after the accidental shooting at the family’s Pitt County home last Tuesday.
Karter’s great-grandfather, 72-year-old Rayfield Ruffin, was arrested and charged Friday in connection to the fatal shooting.

Police said Ruffin, who lives with the siblings at the home, did not store his firearm properly.
Karter was a kindergarten student at Northwest Elementary School.
“Karter was a happy 5-year-old with a bright smile and loved by so many.”
