A Florida boy is dead after he reportedly found an unsecured, loaded gun and accidentally shot himself.
The 6-year-old tragically killed himself in a condo inside a gated community in Tamarac, police said.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said the child was already dead when paramedics arrived.
Police did not release the boy’s identity or further information surrounding the tragic incident that shocked neighbors.
“All of a sudden we just heard the ambulances and the police rush in,” a witness said.
“While we were here, we saw a lady crying with another child and they put her in a car,”
“It’s super sad. Guns are dangerous, but they shouldn’t be left unattended or stuff like that, especially if there are children in the house.”
“I’m a gun owner myself, but mine are in a safe.”
