Woman, cousin arrested in stabbing death of Oregon postal worker

Authorities in Oregon have arrested two suspects in connection to the fatal stabbing of a postal worker.

Samantha Christensen, 48, and her cousin 52-year-old Chad Michael Westover were charged over the murder of Tristan Thomas.

The 43-year-old postal worker was off-duty on Oct. 3 when an altercation erupted between him and a neighbor accusing him of stalking her teen daughter.

Westover and Christensen were at the neighbor’s home for a party and allegedly got involved in the fight.

  • Christensen claimed that Thomas had a large kitchen knife in his pocket when he stabbed Westover.

    Westover responded by stabbing Thomas multiple times leaving him in a pool of blood and fleeing the scene with Christensen.

    Thomas was in a coma for two weeks before succumbing to his injuries. His cousin thanked the community for the outpouring of support the family had received since the attack.

    “Absolute strangers have been reaching out to me with various messages,” Brandon Thomas said.

    “I’m not even sure how they got my phone number. I get a text and all these wonderful things about my cousin, and it’s nice to hear. That’s what’s getting me through right now.”
