NYC mother arrested after malnourished son dies with severe eczema: ‘We never seen the child’

A New York City mother has been arrested Monday following the death of her 4-year-old malnourished son at a Harlem apartment.

Medics located the boy, identified as Jahmeik Modlin, unresponsive at his family’s apartment on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard at around 7:42 p.m. Sunday.

The child was brought to the hospital with severe hypothermia and a severe case of eczema on his chest that was initially reported as a burn.

    Neighbors of 26-year-old Nytavia Ragsdale said that she has lived in the apartment for three years and told them she had four kids but they never saw her children.

    “We always ask about the kids. She never have them. I never seen them go to school. I never see her take them out,” one said.

    “She been living here for almost three years, and I never seen the child.”
