An elderly woman was decapitated after she jumped from a Manhattan high rise to her death during a wedding Saturday afternoon.
The 81-year-old woman leaped from the 28th story of the ritzy Park Regis Apartments in the city’s Upper East Side at around 3:30 p.m.
Witnesses saw the woman getting decapitated after she became caught on railings and balconies along the side of the building.
“I pulled up just as she was laying there, she had no head,” a resident recalled.
“The head and the arm were clean cut off on the other side, they ended up on the terrace.”
The woman landed on a fence at the bottom of the building. The impact bent the fence that had clothing stuck to it.
“The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death,” the NYPD said.
“The investigation remains ongoing at this time. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending proper family notification.”
