One person was killed and nine others suffered injuries after a shooting that erupted during a homecoming celebration near Tennessee State University, authorities said Saturday.
Gunfire erupted shortly after 5 p.m. between two groups of people as a large crowd gathered for the parade.

Three of those injured are juveniles aged from 12 to 14, authorities said. Some of the victims were innocent bystanders.
Authorities said that a 24-year-old victim succumbed to their wounds.
Police and Fire officials were already at the scene before the shooting to assist in the homecoming events.
