San Antonio news, Texas news.

A Texas boy was gunned down by his 14-year-old neighbor who started a fight outside their San Antonio apartment complex late Wednesday.

The juvenile suspect taunted 16-year-old Joel Castillo about his recently deceased mother triggering a physical altercation before pulling out a gun.

Castillo’s father tried to intervene but decided to alert the 14-year-old’s mother.

As he headed to the woman’s home, the father heard gunshots. He ran back to the scene to find his mortally wounded son.

“No families out there deserve this, father or mother, to have to see their kid leave this earth, leave this world,” Castillo’s dad said.

“All the families out there that lost their children, I feel y’alls’ pain. I never thought I would lose mine.”
