Eleven people were hospitalized Friday night in Pennsylvania after ingesting toxic mushrooms.
First responders rushed to a private home in Peach Bottom Township at around 9:30 p.m.
“Units were advised that 11 people had ingested toxic mushrooms and were all ill,” the Delta-Cardiff Volunteer Company Station said in a statement.
Delta-Cardiff Fire Chief Laura Taylor said the victims included adults and children and were all taken to WellSpan York Hospital in York where they were listed in stable condition.
The emergency was described as a “mass casualty” situation.
Emergency crews from York, Lancaster, and Hardford counties responded to the scene as well as the Pennsylvania State Police.
