A recently married mother-of-four was slaughtered inside her Kentucky woman in a tragic murder-suicide carried out by a family friend.
On October 5, Jessica Hager was shot to death when Michael Rahmlow, 42, broke into her home at around 3 a.m.
“Jessica shook me and said ‘David, I think somebody’s breaking into the house,” the victim’s husband recalled.
“Sure enough, I heard glass breaking and the door being kicked in.”
The man told his 40-year-old wife to flee from the basement door as he inspected the break-in.
But Rahmlow, a family friend of the couple, shot Jessica dead before taking his own life.
Jessica’s husband said Rahmlow, a former US Marine Corps, dated his sister and would blame Jessica for his relationship’s troubles.
“Every time they would break up, he would think automatically my Jessica’s telling my little sister to leave him over some bull crap,” the grieving husband said.
“He was a friend (on an) everyday basis. We were up here, or he was at our house every day. He texted me on the phone. He called me on the phone, ‘What are you doing?’ We were friends.”
