Houston man charged for strangling woman; dumping body in empty field

A Houston man was arrested after the body of a slain woman was found in an empty field on Wednesday.

Christopher Daniel Bernard, 25, was charged with murder and tampering with evidence over the death of Cortney Hall, 29.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that Bernard and Hall met at a motel Monday.

    Hall’s body was located at around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday by a landscaping crew.

    Authorities did not disclose a motive for the crime citing the ongoing investigation.
