Washington DC news, Washington news.

A Pro-Palestinian protester tried to self-immolate outside the White House during a Saturday rally.

Samuel Mena Jr. lit his arm on fire in Lafayette Park prompting a frantic response by cops and bystanders.

The man could be seen in pictures and footage from the chaotic scene waving his burning arm in the air, shrieking in pain.

Bystanders poured water in Mena’s arm and assisted him as he screamed about “misinformation.”

“I’m a journalist, and I said it was okay,” he was heard wailing through horrifying cries of pain.

Mena later explained his act as an attempt to outline his stance on “objectivity as it relates to journalism” over the war in Gaza.

The man identifies himself as a production specialist and photojournalist for AZFamily Channels 3 and 5.
