SC high school student, 14, arrested after threatening to shoot schoolmate

Authorities in Richland County, South Carolina have arrested a 14-year-old boy after he allegedly threatened to shoot another teen this week.

Richland County deputies responded to reports of threats made at Spring Valley High School in the 10000 block of Two Notch Road at around 9 p.m.

Investigators learned that a 14-year-old student approached a 16-year-old while they were being released from school and threatened to shoot them.

    On social media, detectives found posts featuring the minor suspect with firearms and more threatening statements.

    Deputies searched the suspect’s residence but found no weapons.

    The juvenile suspect was arrested on first-degree assault and battery and making unlawful threats.
