A Texas death row inmate was put to death Tuesday for the 1989 fatal stabbing of twin 16-year-old girls.

Garcia Glenn White, 61, received the lethal injection at the state penitentiary in Huntsville and was pronounced dead at 6:56 p.m.

Although he had confessed to killing five people in three separate incidents from 1989 to 1995, White was only prosecuted for slaughtering Annette and Bernette Edwards who were killed with their mother in their Houston home.

“I regret, I apologize, and I pray that you can find peace, comfort, and closure in your heart for the wrong I have done and the pain I have caused you, and anybody else I’ve caused pain to. I just want to apologize; I take responsibility for it.”

White thanked his family, friends, the administration, and guards “for treating us like human beings.”

“To all my brothers and sisters incarcerated, y’all just keep pushing forward, keep loving one another,” he added.
