A Florida man was arrested Saturday evening more than a month after he allegedly traveled to Maryland to slaughter his ex-girlfriend and her new partner in crimes that “shock the conscience.”
Frederick County deputies responded to a New Market, Maryland home at around 7 a.m. on Aug. 25 to find Crimea Malita Baker, 33, and Sean Antoine Lange, 34, dead with gunshot wounds.
Police said Baker’s ex-boyfriend stormed into the couple’s home and fatally shot them in an upstairs bedroom while Baker’s four children hid in a closet.
David Phillip Turner, 33, is accused of firing over 40 shots while carrying out the slayings. He was the father of three of Baker’s children.
“This was a heinous, targeted double murder – a crime of rage and anger,” Fredrick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins said.
Turner was charged with first-degree murder, home invasion, and two counts of use of a firearm in a crime of violence or felony.
