Drunken Tennessee mother attacks son with screwdriver after picking him up from school

A Tennessee mother was arrested this week after allegedly attacking her son with a screwdriver.

Miriam Castillo, 44, was charged with aggravated child abuse and domestic assault for the Tuesday afternoon attack on her child.

The boy was spotted running and screaming “She is trying to kill me” after managing to get out of his mother’s car.

  • He reportedly told witnesses he was “assaulted by his mother” who “was driving recklessly after she picked him up from school.”

    The child alleged that Castillo “attempted to put him out of the moving vehicle while on the way to pick up his sister.”

    He called his father who told him to take the car’s keys once stopped but Castillo “proceeded to bite him on his right hand and left elbow” and “took an unknown screwdriver and stabbed him in the left leg breaking the skin.”

    Police said Castillo “smelled a strong odor of alcohol” and admitted to arresting cops that she had been drinking.
