Authorities in Birmingham, Alabama have charged a 34-year-old man with murder after the body of his ex-girlfriend was found in an apartment.
Tremayne Dawon King is accused of assaulting 27-year-old Maria Juan whose body was found at The Hillside apartment complex last Friday.
Police identified King as the victim’s ex-boyfriend and the father of her child.

The man had threatened to kill Juan “plenty of times” according to her mother.
“I told my daughter, I said, ‘Be very careful because he says he’s going to kill you,’” the grieving woman said.
“She said, ‘No, he’s not.’ I said, ‘Yes, he’s going to try. He’s going to try.’”
