Virginia man charged with murder of 1-year-old son

A Virginia father was arrested on second-degree murder charges in connection to the death of his 1-year-old son.

Front Royal Police officers responded to reports of a child in cardiac arrest at a home in the 300 block of North Royal Avenue at around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers found paramedics preparing to transport the victim to Warren Memorial Hospital.

    His father, 24-year-old Nathaniel Lee Edmonds, was arrested by officers.

    “Following a thorough investigation and consultation with the Warren County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, Edmonds was charged with second-degree murder,” police said.

    Authorities are withholding details surrounding the infant’s death to protect the integrity of the investigation.
