A year after she bailed him out of jail after he fatally shot his father, a Florida teen stands accused of stabbing his mother to death.
Collin Griffith, 17, told cops his mother, Catherine, fell on his knife during an argument on Sunday night.
The 39-year-old mother was stabbed twice in the neck. The medical examiner said, “It is not reasonable or plausible that she died the way that he said she did.”
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said the teen called 911 and did not say he killed his mother, just that she was bleeding from the neck.
The dispatchers gave Collin life-saving instructions and techniques but when deputies arrived he seemed “calm, cool, collected, not upset, and he had blood on him.”
“What we found was this knife. This knife is 12 inches long. And of the 12 inches, eight inches of that is the blade,” the sheriff said.
“So he’s saying that his mother fell on this knife. We started our investigation at this point.”
Griffith was facing first-degree murder charges in Oklahoma over the February 2023 fatal shooting of his father.
“When I look at him, I see a psychopath. He’s violent. He’s dangerous. He showed zero remorse,” the sheriff added.
