Ohio man stabs parents; killing mother after she told him not to stay at family home

An Ohio man is behind bars after he allegedly stabbed both parents killing his elderly mother during an argument Friday afternoon.

Kenneth Mortimer, 40, allegedly attacked his parents inside their Hamilton County home after his mother, 74-year-old Barbara Mortimer, told him he could not spend the night at the residence.

When the argument escalated between her and Kenneth, the woman asked her husband Thomas Mortimer to call psychiatric services.

  • Police said Kenneth retrieved a knife from the kitchen and began stabbing both his parents as they sat on the couch.

    As Barbara Mortimer tried to flee, her son grabbed her and dragged her back to the home where he stabbed her to death.

    The 40-year-old suspect’s bond was set at $2 million as he faces murder, attempted murder and felonious assault charges.
